GREEN BEANS WITH BROWN BUTTER AND HAZELNUTS
This is a stunning vegetable dish, delicious with the taste of brown butter and hazelnuts.
Makes 8 servings
- 2 lbs green beans, trimmed
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- pinch Aleppo pepper
- 1/2 cup hazelnuts, toasted and coarsely chopped
- Cook green beans in boiling, salted water for 3 to 4 minutes.¬†Drain. (If making ahead rinse with cold water and pat dry. Reserve.)
- Melt butter in a deep skillet. On medium low heat cook until butter stops sizzling and just starts browning. Add hot green beans (or just before serving add cold green beans to rewarm) and sprinkle with lemon juice, salt and Aleppo pepper.
- Sprinkle with hazelnuts.
